Indian + Muslim Wedding Photography
Today I’m starting a series of posts about Madina + Omkar’s spectacular Indian and Muslim wedding photography. There were so many amazing events, I could not show them all in one post. Make sure to check out their amazing engagement photo session which featured a horse & carriage as well as a Ferrari!
Muslim Wedding Day
Their Muslim wedding celebration began with preparations for both bride and groom at their respective family homes. Once ready, Omkar and his family traveled over to the Madina’s family home. They were welcomed as they arrived by Madina’s family, and then escorted into their home.
Muslim Wedding Ceremony
The Muslim wedding ceremony (called a nikah) was held indoors. Madina + Omkar were kept away from each other until the marriage actually took place. Omkar and most family members were in the living room while the Imam presided over the ceremony. Once the first part of the ceremony took place, Madina was met in another room by the Imam and witnesses. She recited her vows and her portion of the ceremony. Once her vows were completed, the Imam and witnesses went back to Omkar for his vows. Once his vows were completed, that was it. They were married! Omkar was then allowed to go over into the next room and see Madina for the first time that day.
Muslim Wedding Celebration
The two of them headed back into the main room of the house where everyone rejoiced. Omkar also give Madina a special ring. They were able to enjoy blessings from their families as well as traditional celebration sweets. Later they enjoyed a celebratory meal.
Such a beautiful day! I’m so happy I could be present as Madina + Omkar’s wedding photographer. Be sure to check the other blog posts of their celebration including their Hindu wedding celebration, Saint Paul Hotel wedding reception, and Como Park wedding portraits.
