Senior Photography Waterfall Session | Margaret

By Joanna Carina Leave a Comment

Senior Photo Waterfall Session

I was completely shocked the day that Margaret’s mom contacted me to photograph her senior photos. Why? Because I’ve known their family before Margaret was even born, and I couldn’t believe she was old enough to be a senior. Of course, I jumped at the chance to work with them!

River Waterfall Senior Portraits

Margaret had spent her school career excelling on the swim team, and she absolutely loved being in the water. We talked about options for locations in and around water, and they absolutely loved the idea of Willow River Falls in Hudson, Wisconsin. It’s one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the region!

We spent the afternoon around the beautiful waterfall, first beginning outside the water on the rocky shoreline. Afterward, Margaret got right into the water and had so much fun with her portraits. Once they saw them, they absolutely loved Margaret’s photos!

Thank You!

Thank you, Margaret, for choosing to work with me for your senior portraits. I had so much fun working with you and your family, and I am so happy that you love your photographs. And best of luck with your future endeavors!

Como Park Senior Photography

Dylan and his family were excited for his senior portraits. They wanted to photograph him in the beautiful autumn color, and even wanted to include their dog Pax for some of the photos. I was so excited, it was such a beautiful day and a fun photo session!

We met up at Como Park to celebrate Dylan’s love of nature and have some space to play with Pax and get some cute photos. Dylan also had a great time hiking around through the green space and enjoying the fall color. We had an awesome time!

St Paul Senior Photos

After the photoshoot, I invited Dylan and his family out to my St Paul studio to show them the final “best-of-the-best” photos from his portrait session. We chose their favorites and settled on a beautiful wall art collection to enjoy. I cannot wait to see the collection from Graphistudio on their wall.

Thank You!

Thank you, Dylan and family, for choosing to work with me for your senior portrait photography. I had so much fun working with you, and I am so happy that you love your wall artwork. And Dylan, best of luck with your future endeavors!

Senior Guy Photography MN | Nik

Hidden Falls Park Senior Photos

I was contacted by Nik’s mom looking for a senior portrait photoshoot. She talked about Nik’s love of camping, fishing, hiking and nature in general. It made me think of some great options in the Twin Cities area for his photos, and he loved the idea of Hidden Falls Regional Park. It has a waterfall and woods, as well as the riverside area and beach. It was perfect for him!

We met up on a beautiful late summer afternoon. We photographed Nik near the waterfall, throughout the woods, as well as on the beach by the riverside. Everything looked so beautiful – even the sunset was spectacular!

Minneapolis Senior Photos

Once we were finished, I invited Nik and his family out to my St Paul studio to show them the final “best-of-the-best” photos from Nik’s portraits. We chose through their favorites and settled on some gorgeous matted fine art prints to treasure forever. I cannot wait to see them in person when they arrive from Graphistudio in Italy.

Thank You!

Thank you, Nik, for choosing to work with me for your senior portrait photography. I had so much fun working with you and your family, and I am so happy that you love your photographs. And Nik, best of luck with your future endeavors!

Senior Photography Como Park | Gray

By Joanna Carina Leave a Comment

Como Park Senior Photos

I had the chance to work with Gray for a senior portrait session at Como Park – one of my favorite places! The day arrived with beautiful sun and clear skies, although a bit chilly since it was early spring. Luckily, Como Park looks amazing at any time of year, so we had plenty of great spots to capture amazing photos. Gray’s aunt Stephanie was a great helper holding lights and getting some great laughs out of Gray at the perfect times. We even had a beautiful sunset to cap off Gray’s awesome portrait session.

Minneapolis Senior Photos

Once we were finished, I invited Gray’s family out to my St Paul studio to show them the final “best-of-the-best” photos from Gray’s day. We chose through their favorites and found some awesome choices. They settled on an heirloom box of matted fine art prints – with some prints to keep and some to gift to family – to treasure forever. I cannot wait to see them in person when they arrive from Graphistudio in Italy.

Thank You!

Thank you, Gray, for choosing to work with me for your senior portraits. I had so much fun working with you and your family, and I am so happy that you love your photographs. And Gray, best of luck with your future endeavors!

St Croix Boom Site Senior Photography | Sarah

By Joanna Carina Leave a Comment

Stillwater Senior Photography

Sarah’s mom Suzanne called me one spring afternoon and wanted to work with me for her daughter’s senior photos. We talked about Sarah and her interests, and immediately I knew she would love to work at the St Croix Boom Site in Stillwater. Between the trees, beach, river and even the cave, it seemed like the perfect spot for her. They all agreed, and so we set up a session for late spring!

St Croix Boom Site Senior Session

The day arrived and the weather was perfect. We had so much fun wandering around the Boom Site, through the trees, along the beach, in the cave, among the grasses, etc. Sarah loved it, and it was definitely a perfect fit! She seemed in her perfect element, being surrounded by nature, trees, water, etc.

Minneapolis Senior Photos

Once we were finished, I invited the whole family out to my studio to show them the final “best-of-the-best” photos from Sarah’s day. They ended up choosing an heirloom box of matted fine art prints to treasure forever!

Thank You!

Thank you, Sarah, for choosing to work with me for your senior photos. I had so much fun working with you and your family, and I am thrilled that you love your photographs. Sarah, best of luck with your future endeavors!

Mill Ruins Park + Guthrie Theater Senior Photography | Amari

Minneapolis MN Senior Photography

Amari’s beautiful Minneapolis senior photo session is on the blog today. I was contacted by Amari’s mom to capture her senior photos. She loves theater and was instantly in love with the idea of working at the Guthrie Theater for her photos, and also wanted to work at Mill Ruins Park right next door. Both are perfect locations for a beautiful portrait session!

Guthrie Theater Senior Session

We started our afternoon at the Guthrie Theater. We had fun playing around the nooks and crannies of the theater, and especially loved the view from the Endless Bridge. Once we finished at the Guthrie, we headed down to Mill Ruins Park for more photo fun.

Mill Ruins Park Senior Session

We photographed Amari throughout the Mill Ruins Park area, until the sunset ended our beautiful light. We had so much fun and Amari was laughing and having a great time the whole way.

Once we were finished, I invited the whole family out to my studio to show them the final “best-of-the-best” photos from Amari’s day. They ended up choosing a number of matted fine art prints to treasure forever!

Thank You!

Thank you, Amari, for choosing to work with me for your senior photography. I had so much fun working with you and your family, and I am thrilled that you love your photographs. Amari, best of luck with your future endeavors!

Mill Ruins Park Senior Pictures | Tatiana

By Joanna Carina Leave a Comment

Mill Ruins Park Minneapolis Senior Pictures

Today I am highlighting Tatiana’s beautiful senior picture session. Tatiana’s mom Teri contacted me requesting a session with Tatiana. They had found my work online and decided to contact me, and I was thrilled! Senior sessions are so much fun, and I was excited to work with them!

Mill Ruins Park Senior Session

Tatiana wanted to hold her senior portrait session at Mill Ruins Park in downtown Minneapolis, along the riverfront. I love that beautiful park! She gravitated toward the park because it was a favorite location of her father, who had passed away just a couple of years ago. Holding her portrait session here was such a perfect homage to her dad.

The day arrived and it was sunny, although a bit on the cold side. We were all dressed in our warm layers and coats, while Tatiana wore her cute dresses and sandals. She persevered and it seemed the cold barely bothered her at all! We wandered through the grounds of the park as Tatiana rotated through three outfit changes and we stopped at numerous locations. We even had time to take a break before sunset to warm up in our cars for a few minutes too.

Viewing + Ordering Session

Teri + Tatiana loved the final images. They settled on ordering an Heirloom Print Box featuring a handmade copper-foiled glass box with heirloom matted 8×10 prints. These boxes are so unique and gorgeous! I am so excited to finally see the final box.

Thank You!

Thank you, Teri + Tatiana, for choosing to work with me for your senior portraits. I had so much fun working with you both, and I am thrilled that you love your images. And Tatiana, best of luck with your future endeavors!
