Extended Family Studio Photos | Olson Family

By Joanna Carina

Family Photographer St Paul MN

Jen gave me a call one afternoon looking to capture five generations of family together in one photoshoot. What an honor! I was so excited to capture her with her mother and grandmother, as well as her sons, daughter-in-law and her new granddaughter. Several of them were visiting from out of town, so some would be meeting the newest family member for the first time!

Extended Family Photography

The day arrived and they all visited my St Paul photo studio for the photoshoot. I captured photos of the whole extended family together, as well as other various groupings. They were great sports and had fun, and were amazed at how quickly the entire process occurred.

After their session, several of them stayed behind to choose their favorite photos and then select their favorite artwork. They loved their pictures! They ended up with a gorgeous heirloom Print Box filled with their favorite photos from the session.

Thank You!

Thank you, Olson family, for working with me for your extended family photography. I had so much fun working with you, and I am thrilled that you love your photographs!

If you’d like to work together for your extended family studio photography, give me a call or send me an email soon!

BONUS: Make sure to take a look at other extended family sessions I have photographed too, including studio extended family photos, Como Park extended family photos, another Como extended family session, an Apple Valley extended family photoshoot, Centennial Lakes extended family photoshoot, another studio extended family portrait session, and a Hmong extended family traditional dress portrait session.

Graduate Photographers Minneapolis | William

By Joanna Carina

MN Graduate Photography

Lisa contacted me one afternoon looking for portraits of her son William. He was about to receive his Master’s Degree from University of Cambridge in London for theoretical physics, and wanted to celebrate the achievement. It was a great honor in their family, as both his mother Lisa, as well as his grandfather, had achieved their advanced degrees and were proud of their amazing accomplishments. I was so excited to work with them, and we planned a session date when William would be home for his 2024 spring break visit.

College Graduate Photos

William and his family worked with me at my St Paul photo studio one sunny April morning. William wore his master’s degree graduation regalia, as well as a crisp tuxedo, for classic portraits of him, as well as a few with his parents. William also wanted a lifestyle photo of him studying with a few key books and his grandfather’s pocket watch as an homage to his family’s academic accomplishments.

After William’s portrait session, they reviewed the “best-of-the-best” photos with me in my St Paul photo studio so they could choose their favorite photos. They narrowed down to their absolute favorites and chose a collection of beautiful matted fine art prints to enjoy.

Thank You!

Thank you, William and family, for working with me for your graduate and family portraits. I had so much fun working with you, and I am thrilled that you love your photos!

Engagement Studio Photography | Baylee + Thomas

By Joanna Carina

Engagement Studio Photography

I talked with Baylee one afternoon about how much she wanted to have beautiful photos taken of her and her fiancé Thomas. Thomas had surprised Baylee by proposing to her at the airport when she arrived back into town – in baggage claim no less! We talked about their wedding colors (red and blue) and the plans they were making for their big day. She really wanted some beautiful artwork in their home to remind themselves of each other, and to celebrate joining their lives together. They both really liked the idea of studio portraits so they were more timeless, so they scheduled a session to capture their photos at my studio.

They arrived late one winter morning for their photoshoot, and were both so excited to capture their photos together as a couple. We worked together to capture some cute photos of the two of them, and then we met up afterward so they could choose their favorite photos. They ended up designing a wall canvas triptych as well as ordering a handful of other fine art prints to frame and enjoy around their home.

Thank You!

Baylee + Thomas, thank you so much for working with me for your beautiful studio engagement portraits! I had so much fun working with you, and I wish you the best in your new life together!

If you would love to capture your own studio engagement photography, contact me soon!

BONUS: Be sure to check out some other engagements I photographed too, including another studio engagement session, Como Park Conservatory engagement photos, and MN Landscape Arboretum winter lights engagement photos!

Minneapolis Studio Newborn Photographer | Polzin Family

By Joanna Carina

Newborn Family Portrait Photography

I’ve worked with Jordan + Elliot for awhile, ever since their engagement and wedding several years ago. They recently added a new member to their family when their sweet daughter Presley was born. They wanted to celebrate the occasion with a newborn and family session, and I was so excited to catch up with them and meet Presley!

We met up at my studio on a chilly autumn day, and Presley was SO adorable, and such a rockstar too! She was so happy and cooperative and barely fussed at all. We started with wardrobe coordination, and then captured photos of the three of them, two of them, and then some of Presley alone with her cute custom-made name blanket. They all had a great time, and we got so many cute photos of them together!

After the photoshoot, Jordan + Elliot chose a photo album of their favorites as well as a beautiful wall art collection to display over their fireplace. Everything looked stunning, as per usual – all handmade from my artwork vendor Graphistudio, located in Italy.

Thank You!

Jordan + Elliot, thank you so much for working with me for your beautiful family photography! I had so much fun working with you again, and I hope you love your portraits and wall art!

If you are considering newborn and/or family photography, contact me soon!

Studio Extended Family Photography | Raimova Family

By Joanna Carina

Studio Family Photographer

Lola contacted me in July. I had last worked with their family for portraits of them last year when they just had their sixth child, and now he was one year old and they wanted updates. Not to mention, both her mother were in town as well as her grandmother, so they wanted portraits of them all together. I was so excited to work with them again and see their little peanut growing up!

Extended Family Photoshoot

Lola and her family visited me a few weeks later with the whole family in tow. Their little peanut was very cooperative for photos, as well as the rest of the kiddos and family, and they all had a great time. After the session they stayed to choose their favorite photos and decide on their favorite artwork for the current session. Last year they chose a portrait box and wall artwork. This year they updated one of the canvases with the updated photo of their little guy, and also chose an album for all the new photos.

Thank You!

Thank you, Raimova family, for working with me for your extended family portraits. I had so much fun working with you, and I am thrilled that you love your album and wall art!

Newborn Baby Family Studio Photography | Schierman Family

By Joanna Carina

Baby Photographer St Paul MN

Amanda gave me a call one day – she and her husband Scott just had their first baby, Harlowe, a few months ago, and they wanted some family photos and artwork to capture this amazing time in their lives. It was perfect to celebrate the beginnings of their adorable little family!

Baby Photography MN

Amanda, Scott and baby Harlowe came out to my studio one morning. Harlowe was dressed in the most adorable green velvet dress along with a beautiful flower crown! She was a pretty curious about the studio and all the crazy props and equipment, and was very cooperative with mommy and daddy. She was being so adorable, including showing off how much she loved rubbing her face in her daddy’s beard!

After their session (and Harlowe’s nap) they returned to my studio so they could review the photos from their session and choose their favorites. They ended up with a beautiful Graphistudio photo album of their session, along with a few matted fine art prints of their favorites. They are so gorgeous!

Thank You!

Thank you, Schierman family, for working with me for your baby photography. I had so much fun working with you, and I am thrilled that you love your Graphistudio photographs and photo album!

Extended Family Studio Photography | Sewich Family

By Joanna Carina

Family Photographer St Paul MN

I received a call from Jessica one afternoon. Her mother- and -father-in-law were celebrating their 50th anniversary, and she and her husband wanted to gift them with an extended family portrait session and wall art to adorn their home. What an amazing gift! So I would be photographing their mother and father, Jessica and her husband, along with her husband’s brother and his wife and kids too.

Extended Family Photography

The day arrived and they all came into my St Paul photo studio. I captured photos of the whole extended family together, as well as each individual family grouping, and even the kids alone too. They were great sports and had fun, and were amazed at how quickly the entire process happened.

After their session, several of them stayed behind to choose their favorite photos and then select their favorite wall art. They loved their pictures! They ended up with a gorgeous Graphistudio wall art collage of five photos along with a few shelf blocks featuring a few other favorite photos.

Thank You!

Thank you, Sewich family, for working with me for your extended family photography. I had so much fun working with you, and I am thrilled that you love your photographs and wall art!

Family + Baby Studio Photography | Archbold Family

By Joanna Carina

Family Photographer St Paul MN

Diane and her husband Nick had just welcomed their third child into the family and were busy with three little ones under three. Diane gave me a call one day because they wanted to celebrate their newly completed family with their first big family photo to adorn their home. It was a perfect time to celebrate the beginnings of their adorable little family!

Family Photography MN

The five of them came out to my studio one November day. The kiddos were so cute – very happy and cooperative. They had clearly been practicing their best “cheese” looks, and gave me lots of big smiles. It was so fun working with them! I think my favorite point was the “tickle fight” where they all had the biggest smiles and laughs!

After their session, Nick took the kiddos home for naps so Diane and I could review the photos from their session and she could choose her favorites. They ended up with their five favorite photos featured on a beautiful Graphistudio acrylic wall art collage. It is so gorgeous!

Thank You!

Thank you, Archbold family, for working with me for your family photography. I had so much fun working with you, and I am thrilled that you love your photographs and stunning wall art!

If you’d like to work together for your family and baby photography, give me a call or send me an email soon!

Newborn Family Photography MN | Ford Family

By Joanna Carina

Newborn Family Portrait Photography

I’ve worked with Safiyyah + Rory for several years now, ever since their Aria wedding several years ago. They recently added a new member to their family as their second child Amara was born! They wanted to celebrate the occasion with a newborn and family session, and would also be capturing their son Remy’s 4-year-old portraits as well. We had captured Remy’s newborn photos as well, so this would be an awesome addition to their collection.

The Ford family came out to work in my St Paul studio when Amara was about two weeks old. We worked together for about an hour and captured some amazing photos of all four of them, as well as each of them with Amara, and of course Amara alone. Remy was an absolute ham and perfect model for me, always cooperative and flashing the perfect smile right on cue.

After their session, we reviewed their photos, and then they chose their favorites and we designed their art pieces. They ended up with a photo album of their favorite photos, along with a stunning collection of wall art. Everything was so beautiful, and they were so excited when they saw the final artwork in real life! As usual, all of my artwork is crafted in Italy by Graphistudio, and it was just spectacular.

Thank You!

Safiyyah, Rory, Remy and Amara, thank you so much for working with me for your beautiful family photography! I had so much fun working with you, and I hope you love your portraits and wall art!

Maternity Fashion Studio Photography | Higgins Family

By Joanna Carina

High Fashion Maternity Photography

Michelle gave me a call one early spring day and we talked about working together for her maternity photoshoot. She wanted something very specific – a high fashion photoshoot, which is the style typically done for photoshoots in Asian communities. It’s pretty different than the gorgeous flowing dresses that we’re used to here in the US. I loved her example photos she sent, so we decided to work together and have fun!

Asian Maternity Photography

Michelle and Kevin came in for the photoshoot with a number of outfits and props. We had lots of cool ideas and had fun working together. I did the session entirely in natural light, which is also a fun treat I’m not used to much anymore lol!

After their session, they were treated to a slideshow and gallery showing of the “best-of-the-best” from their session. They chose to go with an album of their 20 favorite photos from their session. It was tough to narrow down to just 20, but after much hemming and hawing, they finally ended up with a collection they loved, and an album design that corresponded beautifully with the photos.

Thank You!

Thank you, Michelle + Kevin, for working with me as your high fashion maternity photographer. I had so much fun working with you, and I am thrilled that you love your photographs! And of course, I cannot wait to meet your new little peanut in just a few months!

If you’d like to work together for your maternity and/or family photography, whether indoors or out, contact me soon!

BONUS: Make sure to take a look at other maternity sessions I have photographed including a studio maternity session, a studio family maternity session, another studio maternity session, another studio maternity session, a Como Park maternity session and a final Como Park maternity photoshoot.
