Karen + Harrison were new to the area when they began planning their wedding. They visited numerous venues before deciding to have a Van Dusen Mansion wedding. It is an absolutely spectacular, immaculately gorgeous vintage home-turned-venue in Minneapolis. The Van Dusen Mansion was originally built in the late 1800’s for the first and most prosperous grain entrepreneur in the area. A century later, the home was saved from demolition and turned into an event venue. Lucky us! It was the perfect fit for Karen + Harrison’s wedding day, as well as made for a gorgeous backdrop for their Minneapolis wedding photography.
We began their day by prepping in the gorgeous rooms of the mansion. Karen and her attendants were upstairs in the suite of prep rooms, while Harrison and his attendants were in the game room in the basement. We held their first look on the beautiful grounds of the Van Dusen Mansion. Afterward, we spent time with their portraits, from couple portraits, to wedding party portraits, to family portraits. There were so many amazing spots to choose from!
Their wedding was held in the setting sun of the courtyard behind the mansion. Afterward, we headed to the front of the mansion for cocktail hour, and then into their newer ballroom facility for dinner. After dinner and the cake cutting, we headed back to the carriage house for dancing the night away. Such an amazingly beautiful day!
Karen + Harrison, thank you so much for including me in one of the most wonderful days of your lives! I am so happy for the two of you as you begin your new lives together. I am also extremely excited to see your beautiful Minneapolis wedding photography album!
