Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Photography | Olivia + Mi

By Joanna Carina

Mill Ruins Park Engagement Session

Olivia contacted me looking for beautiful engagement photos with her fiancé Mi. She mentioned loving the riverfront by the Stone Arch Bridge as well as old iron and stonework, so they opted for Mill Ruins Park. I absolutely love that location! It is filled with old ironwork and stone down by the historic riverfront of Minneapolis, not to mention the beautiful Stone Arch Bridge itself. We were so lucky to have a beautifully spectacular day for their summer engagement session!

Mill Ruins Engagement Photos

The day arrived, and we had perfect weather and light traffic. The two of them had such a great time – joking, laughing and having a blast, almost as if I wasn’t even around. We wandered around the park enjoying the beautiful river scenery while photographing away. The time was up before we even knew it! We visited my studio after their session so they could choose from the “best-of-the-best” from their session. They ended up choosing a number of beautiful heirloom matted prints for framing and gifts.

Thank You!

Olivia + Mi, thank you so much for working with me as your Stone Arch Bridge engagement photographer! I had so much fun working with you to create your beautiful photos. I hope you enjoy your gorgeous Graphistudio fine art prints. Best wishes on your Dominican Republic wedding next year!

Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Photography | Teanna + Michael

By Joanna Carina

Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Photos

Michael + Teanna were an item for several years before they finally decided to tie the knot. I was so excited when they hired me as their engagement photographer. They wanted their photos near the Stone Arch Bridge since that was where they were engaged – and I was so excited to work with them!

Father Hennepin Bluff Park Engagement Session

We met up at Father Hennepin Bluff Park, right near the Stone Arch Bridge, on a beautifully warm fall day. The two of them were so bubbly and excited – I loved how happy and carefree they were together. We wandered around the bridges, trails and paths near the bridge and Mississippi River, through the woods, and throughout the park. They were a barrel of non-stop laughs, and we all had so much fun! We even took the extra-rickety wooden stairway down to the river below the bridge – it was scary but amazingly beautiful, especially at sunset. We all had so much fun that the time seemed to blow by – and they were blown away by their photos at their Cinematic Presentation + Design Consultation a few days later.

Thank You!

Teanna + Michael, thank you so much for choosing to work with me as your engagement photographer. I am so happy for you both as you join your lives together!

If you’re planning for Stone Arch Bridge engagement photography or prewedding photography, contact me soon! I’d love to discuss how we could work together.

Lyndale Park Peace Garden Wedding Photography | Allison + Sam

By Joanna Carina

Lyndale Peace Park Wedding

Allison + Sam were engaged to be married while living in Baltimore MD. With Sam being a MN native, they planned for their wedding to take place in Minneapolis. They decided to get married in a beautiful garden setting and loved the Lyndale Park Peace Garden.

Their day dawned with some rain but it quickly made way for the sun as they were preparing for their event. They arrived at the Peace Park and held their first look amidst laughter and tears of joy. We spent some time photographing them together as well as with their family and friends, and then it was on to the ceremony.

Allison + Sam’s wedding ceremony was quiet and simple, and again full of laughter and tears of joy. Allison’s brother provided the music and their friend officiated. They were so happy and joyful!

Stone Arch Bridge Wedding

Once their ceremony was complete, they headed off to the reception and made a quick side trip to the Stone Arch Bridge. They walked across the beautiful Bridge in front of the city skyline and heard numerous well-wishes from passers-by.

Alma Wedding Reception

Once they finished their quick side trip, we all headed to Alma for their dinner reception. The rooms were set for family and friends, and began with their cocktail hour prior to dinner. They had a wonderful evening celebrating with their closest family and friends.

Thank You!

Thank you so much, Allison + Sam, for working with me as your wedding photographer. I enjoyed meeting you, and am so happy for you both as you begin your new lives together.

BONUS: Take a look at a fall Peace Garden engagement session, as well as a summer Peace Garden engagement session that I photographed too!

Minneapolis Senior Picture Photographer | Tatiana

By Joanna Carina

Mill Ruins Park Minneapolis Senior Pictures

Today I am highlighting Tatiana’s beautiful senior picture session. Tatiana’s mom Teri contacted me requesting a session with Tatiana. They had found my work online and decided to contact me, and I was thrilled! Senior sessions are so much fun, and I was excited to work with them!

Mill Ruins Park Senior Session

Tatiana wanted to hold her senior portrait session at Mill Ruins Park in downtown Minneapolis, along the riverfront. I love that beautiful park! She gravitated toward the park because it was a favorite location of her father, who had passed away just a couple of years ago. Holding her portrait session here was such a perfect homage to her dad.

The day arrived and it was sunny, although a bit on the cold side. We were all dressed in our warm layers and coats, while Tatiana wore her cute dresses and sandals. She persevered and it seemed the cold barely bothered her at all! We wandered through the grounds of the park as Tatiana rotated through three outfit changes and we stopped at numerous locations. We even had time to take a break before sunset to warm up in our cars for a few minutes too.

Viewing + Ordering Session

Teri + Tatiana loved the final images. They settled on ordering an Heirloom Print Box featuring a handmade copper-foiled glass box with heirloom matted 8×10 prints. These boxes are so unique and gorgeous! I am so excited to finally see the final box.

Thank You!

Thank you, Teri + Tatiana, for choosing to work with me for your senior portraits. I had so much fun working with you both, and I am thrilled that you love your images. And Tatiana, best of luck with your future endeavors!

Heirloom Wedding Photo Album Design | Stephanie + Travis

By Joanna Carina

Luxury Wedding Photo Album

Today I’m excited to share my latest wedding photo album. Stephanie + Travis were married on a beautiful August day in 2016. Their wedding was held in the gorgeous, vintage glamour of the Minneapolis Club in downtown Minneapolis. You can see their wedding photos from their beautiful day here too.

Graphistudio Wedding Photo Album

After the wedding, Stephanie + Travis wanted a custom Graphistudio wedding album. They have been produced for almost 40 years now, and are handmade in Italy. Together, we designed a wedding photo album that perfectly reflected their day. We started with their album box, and they chose a silky, wood-patterned Maple material. Their names were foiled on the top in classic silver. The box was finished with a sky blue satin ribbon, which was their dominant wedding color.

The album features an elegant crystal clear cover with a photo of Stephanie + Travis in front of the Minneapolis Club. The album is bound with matching Maple material which ties it together with the box. The pages are printed on professional photo paper and bound into a patented lay-flat binding system. The pages are finished with a satin coating to protect against fingerprints, dirt and oils.

Thank You

Stephanie + Travis were thrilled with their album. It is such a wonderful heirloom for them to share with family and friends. They can enjoy it time and again over the years. Congratulations, Stephanie + Travis. It was such an honor and joy to work with you as your wedding photographer. I wish you the best in your lives together!

Minneapolis Depot and Basilica Wedding Photography | Lindsey + Bernie

By Joanna Carina

Minneapolis Depot and Basilica Wedding

I originally met Bernie over a year prior when I photographed his best friend Tim’s wedding (Tim and Jamie were married in May 2016). So of course I was elated when Lindsey + Bernie decided to work with me for their Minneapolis wedding photography too. They were planning an amazing Basilica wedding and Depot wedding reception, and I was so excited!

Our first step was to start with their Father Hennepin Bluff Park and Stone Arch Bridge engagement photography. They loved the area for its combination of classic Minneapolis beauty and touch of nature.

Minneapolis Depot Wedding

The day of their wedding began at The Depot at the Minneapolis Renaissance Hotel. Once their prep work was complete, the two of them held a private moment to read cards they had written to each other and finally have their first look in a quiet corner of The Depot. Afterward, we headed into the lobby of The Depot for more couple photos and spending time together thinking about what was to come. We then headed off to the Stone Arch Bridge for some time photographing the entire wedding party together, both on the Stone Arch as well as in the St Anthony Main area.

Basilica of St Mary Wedding

We continued on to the Basilica of St Mary for their family photos and a few others before their amazing wedding ceremony took place. Such a grand and beautiful location! And finally, we headed back to the Depot for cocktail hour, dinner, toasts and dancing the night away.

Thank You!

Lindsey + Bernie, thank you so much for including me as your wedding photographer on one of the most important days of your lives. I’ve enjoyed getting to know you, and am so happy for you both as you begin your new lives together!

Take a look at some of my other Basilica of St Mary wedding photos too!

Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Photography | Lindsey + Bernie

By Joanna Carina

Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Photography

Lindsey + Bernie thought for awhile about having engagement photography. When we discussed ideas, they spoke about how much they loved the Stone Arch Bridge area. I showed them some images from my previous sessions on the Stone Arch Bridge and Father Hennepin Bluff Park, and they loved it! So they decided to have a Father Hennepin Bluff Park engagement session. They were excited for the beautiful views both above and below the Stone Arch Bridge. They were so excited to walk over on bridge and see the grand view of downtown Minneapolis too.

Father Hennepin Bluff Park Engagement Photos

The day of their Minneapolis engagement photography was beautiful. Even the mosquitoes were dwindling in numbers as the summer had been coming to an end. There were so many beautiful areas to choose from. It is always so fun to work there. Complete with river views, Stone Arch Bridge views, quaint wooden bridges, a rustic stone stairway, pathways through the trees and vintage buildings peeking out from above the treetops. I’m not sure which spot is my favorite. I don’t think I could pick just one!

Lindsey + Bernie also loved the look of my infrared photography. I included my infrared camera frequently in their session. I love the unique, dreamy quality that infrared photos have. (It causes all green, natural elements to appear white. So no, that’s not snow, it’s just the way infrared photography looks!)

Thank You!

Lindsey + Bernie, thank you so much for choosing to work with me as your engagement photographer as well as your wedding photographer. I am so happy for you both as you join your lives together! I’m glad that you enjoyed your prewedding photography, and I am so excited for your big day!

If you are planning a Stone Arch Bridge or Father Hennepin Bluff Park engagement session, contact me soon! I’d love to discuss how we could work together.

Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Photography | Alyssa + Dave

By Joanna Carina

Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Session

Alyssa + Dave are natives of the Twin Cities. They met at college in southern Minnesota, and lived down there for several years. They were engaged last year and then moved back to the Twin Cities. Once we started working together, they decided to try an engagement photo session. They weren’t too sure about their ideal location. I was happy to help them with ideas. They let me know that they loved nature and interesting architecture. We all agreed Father Hennepin Bluff Park engagement photography was ideal for them. The park is a tranquil oasis hidden in the urban heart of Minneapolis. What more could they ask for in their prewedding photography?

Minneapolis Engagement Photo Location

During the week, the forecast threatened rain. Thankfully the weather during their engagement session was warm, sunny and clear! We wandered through the greenery and vegetation of Father Hennepin Bluff Park. The riverfront below the Stone Arch Bridge was particularly amazing. We also lingered on the adorable wooden bridges scattered throughout the park. Alyssa + Dave braved the early-season mosquitoes and were naturals in front of the camera!

We eventually worked our way closer to the Stone Arch Bridge. The vintage stonework of the area gave us stunning backdrops. We used a mix of vintage buildings, bridges and stonework among the lush greenery of Father Hennepin Bluffs Park. Everything looked so beautiful! And Alyssa + Dave were so happy to be together.

Thank You!

Alyssa + Dave, thank you so much for choosing to work with me as your engagement photographer. I loved your prewedding photography, and I am so excited for your wedding day!

St Anthony Main + Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Photography | Chantel + Quinn

By Joanna Carina

Stone Arch Bridge Engagement Session

Chantel + Quinn are natives of the Twin Cities area. They grew up here, met here, and fell in love here. But they moved to Kansas City recently for job opportunities. They still wanted to hold their wedding here in the Cities too, and chose to work with me as their engagement photographer too. I’m so glad they did, they are so much fun!

St Anthony Main Engagement Session

Chantel + Quinn wanted to take advantage of a St Anthony Main and Stone Arch Bridge engagement photography session. Because the Minneapolis area is their “homeland”, they decided to have their prewedding photography taken at the quintessential Stone Arch Bridge and St Anthony Main area. We had to plan their session in advance for a weekend they could make the return five hour drive. Low and behold, the weather on their session date in May was absolutely perfect. The sun was shining, the air was warm, and the flowers were in full bloom. It was an ideal spring day!

Father Hennepin Park Engagement Session

We started their engagement photo session among the gorgeous flowering trees of Father Hennepin Bluff Park. We then wandered up and down St Anthony Main, lingering among the architecture of the vintage mills and buildings. They made such a stunning, vintage-urban backdrop. We eventually worked our way back down St Anthony Main, through Father Hennepin Bluffs Park, and out to the Stone Arch Bridge for a sunset view. Chantel + Quinn really wanted those city views from the Bridge, and they were not disappointed. From the city views, to the flowering trees, to the vintage buildings, to the sunset over the river, everything looked so perfect. And the two of them were happy as could be – joy and laughter abound!

Thank You!

Chantel + Quinn, thank you so much for choosing to work with me for your beautiful Stone Arch Bridge engagement photography. I loved your prewedding photography, and I am so excited for your big day!

Stone Arch Bridge Senior Photography | Molly

By Joanna Carina

Stone Arch Bridge Minneapolis Senior Pictures

Today I am highlighting Molly’s beautiful Stone Arch Bridge senior portraits. I worked with Molly at Father Hennepin Bluff Park and the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis on a beautiful late summer day. I love working at the Stone Arch Bridge because of its wide variety of photographic options, including the green space of the park and river, as well as the walking paths and bridges and of course, the beautiful Stone Arch Bridge itself. Take a look at some of the beautiful photos we created for Molly and her family!

Why Professional Senior Pictures?

Working with a professional photographer for senior portraits allows for a personalized and unique experience. We can work with the senior to create portraits that reflect their interests and personalities in a variety of locations and with props. The session is also longer, allowing for a relaxed atmosphere and a variety of poses and expressions. The end result is a collection of photographs that can be used to create a variety of heirloom artwork, such as albums and wall art, that the senior and their family can enjoy for years to come.

All in all, senior pictures are important for a family celebrating their senior’s transition in life. If you are looking for a senior photographer, please contact me soon so we can discuss working together!

Make sure to take a look at some other senior portrait sessions I have photographed too, including Como Park senior pictures, more Como Park senior photos, Stillwater Boom Site senior photos, a best friends senior session, a Minnehaha Falls senior session, Hidden Falls Regional Park senior photos, other Hidden Falls Park senior portraits, Long Lake Regional Park senior photos, best friends senior pictures, Willow River Falls senior photos, Stillwater senior portraits, Como Park senior session, Guthrie Theater senior photos, Mill Ruins Park senior pictures, Maple Grove Arboretum senior photos, Cathedral Hill senior portraits, Lyndale Peace Park senior pictures, Silver Lake senior pics, North Loop senior session, Cathedral Hill senior photos, Loring Park senior session, Long Lake Regional Park senior pictures, Loring Park senior photos, Stone Arch Bridge senior pictures, and Mill City Museum senior photos.
